Stormwater Pond Construction

Stormwater ponds capture and temporarily store surface water runoff. They also improve water quality by slowing runoff long enough for some of the sediments and pollutants to settle, helping return cleaner water to our rivers and streams. The flow of water is controlled coming into the pond (inlet) and leaving the pond (outlet).

Controlling the flow of stormwater is an important part of preventing floods and a key function of the stormwater management system.
