Temporary Supports
Temporary supports, also known as falsework, are an important part of cast-in-place (as opposed to pre-cast) segmental bridge construction. A temporary pier table is assembled on top of the bridge pier, which provides a working area to install the formwork for the initial cast-in-place segment.

The temporary steel supports around the southernmost pier provide a table to form the first pier segment

Embankment Construction
With the girders in place and the bridge abutment walls poured, embankment construction is underway. Layers of earth material are placed and compacted to bring the road grade in line with the bridge.

Abutment Piles
Piling for the bridge abutments is underway on the Highway 8 / Stoney Trail interchange.
