Project Update – October 4, 2021
What’s Happening in Traffic This Week
Southwest Calgary Ring Road Open
This weekend one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Alberta’s history opened to traffic. You can find some of the staggering project statistics at alberta.ca.
Traffic Stoppages on Old Banff Coach Road S.W.
This week girders for the 17 Avenue S.W. interchange are being delivered. There will be short, intermittent traffic stoppages on Old Banff Coach Road S.W. east of 101 Street S.W. lasting about five minutes while the trucks turn south.
All work is weather dependent. Please check 511 Alberta and The City of Calgary’s traffic information map for up-to-date information on traffic detours and speed reductions.
We appreciate your patience during construction.
Traffic Shifted to New Roads
This weekend traffic was shifted to the re-aligned Crestmont Boulevard S.W., 109 Street S.W. and 1 Avenue S.W.
This is a huge milestone for the project and opens the area needed to construct the roundabout that will connect Valley Ridge Boulevard N.W. and 109 Street S.W.
