Traffic Shift to New Crestmont Boulevard, 109 Street & 1 Avenue S.W.
In the coming days, traffic will be shifted to the re-aligned Crestmont Boulevard S.W. At the same time, 109 Street S.W. and 1 Avenue S.W. will also open. Drivers will use 1 Avenue S.W. instead of West Valley Road S.W. to access eastbound Trans-Canada Highway and northbound Stoney Trail.
The traffic shift will happen overnight, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., and is anticipated to take place by the end of the week (October 3, 2021). This work is weather dependent. Please watch for detour signage.
A portion of Crestmont Boulevard S.W. will continue to operate as a single lane of alternating traffic until the end of October 2021 (weather permitting) while the tie-in to the existing road is completed.
Access from West Valley Road / 101 Street S.W. to westbound Trans-Canada Highway
1 Avenue S.W. will remain one-way eastbound for several months. During this time, there will be no access to the west from West Valley Road / 101 Street S.W. Drivers may use Bowfort Road N.W. to go west on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Business access
Access to businesses along West Valley Road S.W. – Calgary Climbing Centre, Calgary West Dance Academy and New Victory Church – will shift to the permanent location at the intersection of 1 Avenue and 101 Street S.W.
Thank you for your patience during construction.
