Overnight Paving June 12 & 13

This weekend, crews will be working overnight to pave the ramp from southbound Stoney Trail to westbound Trans-Canada Highway / Valley Ridge Boulevard N.W. The ramp will be closed for two nights:

  • Saturday, June 12 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, June 13 at 7 a.m.
  • Sunday, June 13 at 7 p.m. to Monday, June 14 at 7 a.m.

Traffic will be detoured to Bowfort Road N.W. during the ramp closures.

The decision to proceed with night work has been carefully considered. Completing this work during the day would result in significant traffic disruptions because of the high traffic volumes in the area. The contractor and Alberta Transportation recognize the impacts to adjacent residents and determined completing the work as quickly as possible provided the most benefit.

Laying the asphalt will include trucks, pavers and vibrating rollers. As the work is happening in low light and a number of people are required for paving, back-up beepers will be necessary to ensure the safety of our crew members. Additional lighting will be used as required and will be directed towards the work area to avoid nearby homes.
