Project Update – February 22, 2021
What’s Happening in Traffic This Week
Overnight Detour: Eastbound Trans-Canada Highway to Northbound Stoney Trail
Tonight and tomorrow night (February 22 and 23), between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., the ramp from eastbound Trans-Canada Highway to northbound Stoney Trail will be closed for bridge girder installations. Traffic will be detoured to the Bowfort Road N.W. interchange.
All work is weather dependent. Please check 511 Alberta and The City of Calgary’s traffic information map for up-to-date information on traffic detours and speed reductions. For all other project information, please visit westringroad.ca.
We appreciate your patience during construction.
South of the ‘TCH’
There’s lots of activity happening on the Stoney Trail interchange, south of the Trans-Canada Highway.
Looking southeast at girders being lowered into place on the exit ramp bridge over 1 Avenue S.W. (northbound Stoney Trail to eastbound Trans-Canada Highway) In the background, Cougar Ridge is on the left and the reinforced soil slope and 2 Avenue S.W. access road are just behind the bridge Looking southwest at the same area last summer
How it started:
How it’s going:
The polar vortex slowed us down for a bit, but we’re back at it (gravel excavation, that is) and spring is just around the corner!
