Reminder – Bow River Pathway Temporarily Closed Starting Tomorrow
Starting Tuesday, May 19, the pathway connecting Valley Ridge and Bowness Park, on the south side of the Bow River, will be fully closed. During this time, the new pathway alignment will be tied in and a section of the pathway will be removed. There will be no pathway detour available, nor will there be access to the Bow River pedestrian bridge to or from the west. Pathway access to and from the east will remain open.
In-River Bridge Pier Construction – South Side
Piling continues for the cofferdam on the south side of the Bow River. Once complete, the cofferdam will provide a dry work area for in-river bridge pier construction.

Night Closures of Scenic Acres Link NW for Girder Installation
On May 22, 23 and 24, 2020, the section of Scenic Acres Link NW that travels under Stoney Trail NW will be closed overnight (7 pm to 6:30 am) for girder installation. Detours will be signed and are shown below.
During the closures, motorists on southbound Stoney Trail can expect a right lane closure for a short section when travelling over Scenic Acres Link NW. No impact to motorists travelling on northbound Stoney Trail is anticipated.
Girder Installations on Trans-Canada Highway/Stoney Trail Interchange
Last Tuesday night, four pre-cast concrete girders were installed on the north span of the new ramp bridge from southbound Stoney Trail to eastbound Trans-Canada Highway.

Paskapoo Slope
Work on the Paskapoo Slope, west of Cougar Ridge and north of Old Banff Coach Road SW, continues. Controlled blasting to remove bedrock has been ongoing since November 2019.
Gravel Extraction South of Old Banff Coach Road SW
For the last several weeks crews have been stripping topsoil just west of Wentworth (West Springs). Now that the topsoil stripping is complete, gravel extraction is underway to lower the road to the necessary grade.
