Looking southwest, the completed reinforced soil slope covered with hydroseed. Reinforced slopes are cost-effective alternatives to concrete walls that use compacted geosynthetic material to stabilize steep embankments.

Controlled Blasting Milestone May 2021
A major milestone has been reached with the conclusion of daily controlled blasts on the Paskapoo slope. Localized, intermittent blasting will be still be required for the two stormline trenches on either side of Stoney Trail.
Trans-Canada Highway Grading
145,000 cubic metres of fill will raise the Trans-Canada Highway about 7m in this area.
