What’s Happening in Traffic This Week Westbound Trans-Canada Highway Ramp to Northbound Stoney Trail Until April 30, the ramp from westbound Trans-Canada Highway to northbound Stoney Trail will be reduced to one lane. From 10 p.m. on April 16 to 5 a.m. on April 17, the ramp from southbound Stoney Trail to eastbound Trans-Canada Highway will be closed for bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to the Valley Ridge Boulevard N.W. interchange.
Beginning April 15 and lasting approximately one week, Crestmont Boulevard S.W. will be reduced to a single lane of alternating traffic. This closure is required to complete road maintenance on both sides of the road. Old Banff Coach Road S.W. is an alternative route if you want to avoid this lane closure.
Pile driving for the Bow Trail S.W. interchange is anticipated to start this week and continue for approximately one month (mid-May). Pile driving involves a pneumatic (air) hammer striking steel piles, which creates a repetitive pinging or hammering sound.
