What’s Happening in Traffic This Week

Eastbound Trans-Canada Highway Reduced to One Lane

This week the median (left) lane on eastbound Trans-Canada Highway, east of Stoney Trail, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily for road construction.

Eastbound Trans-Canada Highway to Bowfort Road N.W. Exit Ramp Detour

Over the weekend, the exit ramp from eastbound Trans-Canada Highway to Bowfort Road N.W. was shifted east to accommodate construction.

All work is weather dependant. Please check 511 Alberta and The City of Calgary’s traffic information map  for up-to-date information on traffic detours and speed reductions.

We appreciate your patience during construction.

Southbound Stoney Trail Construction

Road construction on the southbound Stoney Trail lanes between the Trans-Canada Highway and Old Banff Coach Road S.W. continues.

Bow Trail S.W. Pathway Underpass

The box culvert for the pathway under Bow Trail S.W. was placed near the end of 2021 and work on the Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls at the north and south ends is getting underway.

More information about the underpass is included in the South Project Construction Update video, including how Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design principles were incorporated.
