Eastbound Trans-Canada Highway Shifted South onto Detour

On Friday, March 19, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., the eastbound Trans-Canada Highway lanes, east of Old Banff Coach Road, will be shifted onto a new detour south of the existing lanes. Traffic will be shifted in stages overnight and delays are expected.

In the coming weeks the westbound lanes will also be shifted onto this detour.

The Trans-Canada Highway is being reconstructed to reduce the steep grades and widen to four lanes in each direction. More information is available at westringroad.ca > North project > Trans-Canada Highway Improvements.

Thank you for your patience during construction. Please check Alberta 511 and The City of Calgary’s traffic information map for up-to-date traffic information.
